Today Ensenada is a progressive sea port that has been able to promote its beauty thru tourism worldwide, without neglecting its cultural, industrial and commercial activities. This virtuous balance, positions Ensenada as an excellent rest and relaxation destination. It is the third largest city in Baja California and a key port in the Mexican Pacific seas. Some recreational activities include surfing, scuba diving, whale watching, fishing, and golf.

Known as the “Cinderella of the Pacific”. The city of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico is conveniently located 70 miles south of the United States international border, 60 minutes away from Tijuana, Baja California and 90 minutes from San Diego, California.

Within the city will find important historical sites such as the Ex-hotel Riviera, today known as The Cultural Center Riviera of Ensenada. This cultural center has as one of its fundamental objectives to preserve the cultural, historical, artistic, archeological and architectural patrimony of the city. This site was constructed in 1928 and completed in 1930. It was originally a hotel and casino until 1935. It is also believed that this is where the very popular “Margarita” drink was first created.

Traveling within Ensenada is not difficult, especially because Ensenada has an efficient public transportation system. It is very easy to reach popular and must see places within the city. Traveling within Ensenada is safe, economical and fast.

What to Do?

This beautiful port is full of warmth and tranquility and has something for everyone including diverse activities that are unique to the city such as exploring the culture, fishing, water sports, agriculture, industrial and business. Other tourists may enjoy Ensenada’s natural seasonal events such as Grey Whale watching during the winter. Visitors have come to admire the yearly visit from this great mammal.

Ensenada also plays host to the annual Baja 500 and 1000 off-road races featuring motorcycles, stock cars, production vehicles, buggies, trucks, and custom fabricated racers. This wildly popular sport attracts big-name drivers, their support teams, celebrities, and racing fans from around the world. Tourists are assured a unique and unforgettable experience no matter the season.
